I’m just a regular guy who works out at a regular gym (shoutout to Planet Fitness) and I rarely spend more than an hour there.

I’d much rather use my time pursuing my passions—traveling and achieving fluency in Spanish—which I share on my YouTube channel, Well-Traveled Romeo.

I also hate cooking, so I don’t create or recommend elaborate “macro-friendly” recipes.

Yet, after years of struggling with fad diets, expensive fitness programs, and “magic” supplements, I successfully transformed my body, reducing my body fat percentage from 26% to less than 10% in just six months.

Through obsessive research and analysis of successful body transformations, I discovered what all drug-free, natural transformations have in common: there are no secrets—just two simple rules.

Armed with this knowledge, I wrote Build Muscle Get Lean: The Only Two Rules You Need to Build a Leaner, More Muscular Body.

Grounded in over 70 scientific references, this book simplifies fitness and helps readers avoid wasting time and money on the fitness industry’s smoke and mirrors.

I’m a retired U.S. Navy Veteran, travel-lover, fitness enthusiast and the founder of Build Muscle Get Lean.

I’m driven by a mission to help people transform their bodies to a more leaner and muscular look.

Useless fitness gadgets, unnecessary supplements, and incomplete fitness training programs plague the fitness industry.

We have people putting butter in their coffee, and others who volunteer to electrically shock themselves for 20 minutes, in hopes that they will “burn calories, reduce cellulite, tone up and build lean muscle.”

The FDA has repeatedly stated, no EMS devices have been cleared at this time for weight loss, girth reduction, or for obtaining “rock hard” abs.

But this is the “smoke and mirrors” that we’re forced to deal with everyday.

I’ve even seen people in the fitness industry I held in high regards change.

Once they realized how much money they could make selling supplements and energy drinks, their focus shifted away from their viewers best interests to their own profit-based interests.

Out of frustration, I wrote by book that shares all the details involved in all successful body transformations.

It ignores all the fluff and gives you the complete picture about what it truly takes to not only lose weight, but safely build muscle, lose fat, and get lean at the same time.

My Transformation Story

On January 2nd, 2023, the month after returning from a 14-day cruise ship vacation in Antarctica, I decided to buckle down and get serious about getting lean again.

I started at around 26% body fat.

My original goal was to just hit 15% body fat.

On March 25th, 2023, I blew past my 15% body fat goal.

My body fat had gone below 15%, down to to 12.5%.

But since I had once again incorporated habits that I enjoyed sticking with, and felt great all around, I decided to keep going, all while continuing to travel to different cities around the United States—and keeping up my workout routine.

On May 20th, 2023, I learned my body fat percentage dropped to 10.7%.

More importantly, I gained 12 pounds of muscle from my baseline measurements in 2020— including an increase of over 4 pounds of muscle gained during my transformation.

I became the leanest and most muscular I’ve even been, and I never starved myself, lacked energy, or missed out on foods I enjoyed during the process.

Although I’m not actively trying to get leaner, I’ve still maintained the physique I have in the June 2023 picture above because I follow the principals I teach in the Build Muscle Get Lean program.

The only thing I do differently now is eat more of the foods I already was enjoying during my transformation.
